BentallGreenOak on behalf of WELPUT are bringing forward new proposals for Bury Street, a regeneration of this strategic location in the Aldgate area of the City, comprising Bury House, Holland House and Renown House.

Our proposals respond to feedback from the City of London Corporation, as well as from discussions with other key community members over the last few years.

“Our vision is to deliver a transformative reimagination of an urban block, sensitively optimising a collection of buildings and public realm whilst also securing the extensive heritage value of Holland House – a Grade II* listed building. We will also introduce a new high quality building within the established Eastern Cluster which achieves the highest standards for design and sustainability.”

The City of London has never been about business. Beyond its status as one of the world’s most important trading hubs, it’s always been a place where the arts, culture and community can flourish. Our work on Bury Street will continue this long tradition, creating a destination where visitors and locals of all ages can gather, create, play and forge meaningful connections.

We have a privileged responsibility to create a new focal point for the community around Bury Street and beyond. Informed by our research and inspired by our conversations with the community, we believe the cultural vision outlined in this document will create a place of real purpose. A genuine destination that inspires, connects and enriches the lives of all those who use it. Together, we can create a place where everyone belongs.

Since early 2023 we’ve welcomed over 150 education providers sporting institutions, charities and religious groups to use the space in the beautiful Grade II* heritage listed Holland House. It’s been fantastic to be able to offer the use of Holland House free of charge and the experiences of these groups and the feedback received have helped to shape our vision for this important site. Below are some of the organisations who have used the spaces within Holland House.
